Mosquito means small fly in Spanish but when it comes to having the flying insect around they are a big pain. They love body heat, dampness, milk, and movement, among other things which makes pregnant women a favorite target.  So why do they bite us?  The females want our blood to mature their eggs.

The word rhinoceros is from the Greek with the meanings' of two words, rhino (nose) and keras (horn).  Unfortunately it's the keras or horn that is causing the large African animal to become endangered.  Like human hair the rhino's horns are made up of the protein keratin.  This tightly wound fiber is highly sought after by some countries for medicine and even knife handles.
